Privacy Policy

Information We Collect

• Account information — name, email address, phone number and a securely hashed password, if you create a FindDito account.
• Submissions — details you provide through Add a Place, Claim a Business, Suggest an Edit, Advertise, Contact and Copyright/Takedown forms, including any proof-of-ownership document uploaded when claiming a business.
• Usage data — standard web server logs (e.g. IP address, browser type) used for security and troubleshooting.
• Analytics — if you accept the analytics banner shown on your first visit, we record the pages you view, your device type (mobile/tablet/desktop), and an approximate location estimated from a truncated (partially anonymized) IP address. This is first-party data used only to understand how FindDito is used and to report aggregate interest levels (e.g. views per city or category) to advertisers — it is never sold, and never sent to a third-party analytics network. Declining the banner means none of this is recorded.
• Cookies — a session cookie to keep you signed in, a CSRF token to protect forms from being submitted by other sites, a city-preference cookie that remembers which city you're browsing, and (only if you accept analytics) a randomly generated visit identifier that is not linked to your name or account.
• Device fingerprint — a free, open-source browser fingerprint used only to apply a fair limit on how many forms an anonymous (signed-out) visitor can submit, to reduce spam. It is not used to build an advertising profile.
